Metcal MX-500UF - Ultra-Fine Soldering Rework System - 50° - 104°F

The Metcal MX-500UF Ultra-Fine Soldering Rework System is a smaller re-designed system that has more features and a newer look of the previous MX-500 system. It's a switchable dual port system that is fully compatibility with existing MX upgrade kits, tip cartridges, hand-pieces and accessories. This powerful soldering station provides greater process control with SmartHeat technology, which means it's equipped with a self-regulating heater that senses its own temperature and closely maintains its pre-set idle temperature to help the life of the heater tip. The tip temperature is determined by the inherent metallurgical properties of the heater and no external adjustment or equipment is needed.

Along with those features the Metcal MX-500UF Ultra-Fine Soldering Rework System also has a built-in power meter that displays a graphical and numerical representation of the power applied to the cartridge. The system also features a user programmable PowerSave mode, which allows the user to set the time that the station will enter this mode. The user can select anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours. The MX-500UF uses a universal power supply that automatically senses the input line voltage and adjust accordingly, which allows for worldwide operation without any adapters or change in performance. On top of the power supply also features a ground fault interrupt, which means that the AC ground detects power line ground failures and immediately alerts the operator and shuts down the system. Only after the power line has been restored can the MX-500 be restarted and soldering operations can be resumed.
