The Puritan 25-808 1PR Rayon Tipped Applicator is a sterile applicator that has a extra-absorbent rayon tip with a polystyrene handle. The tip of this applicator is a soft absorbent USP medical grade rayon fiber material. It's securely bonded to a semi-flexible polystyrene handle with an aqueous based adhesive and perfect for diagnostic, forensic, and medical environments for task's like specimen collection, cell collection, and general purpose collection. The 25-808 1PR rayon tipped applicator is CE marked for medical use and meets FDA GMP's, ISO 9001:2008, and ISO 134585:2003 standards (certificate of sterility and/or compliance available with each shipment upon request).

The rayon tip material is a synthetic spun fiber made from wood pulp. This soft and absorbent material is much like cotton and is an economical choice for applications that cotton swabs would not be suitable. It's widely used for specimen collection. While it is produced from natural material, the manufacturing process eliminates any components that may damage the specimen or interfere with transport and/or processing. Puritan Medical Products only purchases the finest-grade spun rayon fiber in bales and then cards it themselves to assure the quality of the material is up to their standards.
