The Puritan 25-806 1PA Calgiswab® Calcium Alginate Tip Applicator is a sterile applicator that has a regular calcium alginate tip with a plastic handle. The tip of this applicator is a medical grade calcium alginate material, which contains no fatty acids that may be inhibitory to many strains of bacteria. It's securely bonded to a semi-flexible polystyrene handle with an aqueous based adhesive and perfect for medical environments for task's like specimen collection and wound care. The 25-806 1PA calium alginate tipped applicator is CE marked for medical use and meets FDA GMP's, ISO 9001:2008, and ISO 13485:2003 standards (certificate of sterility and/or compliance available with each shipment upon request).

The Calcium alginate material is derived from seaweed. This material contains no fatty acids that may be inhibitory to many strains of bacteria. The alginate fibers are slowly dissolved by body fluids and tissues while any remaining fibers will be eliminated quickly.
