The Puritan 25-800 D 50 Polyester Tipped Applicator is a sterile applicator that has a miniature polyester tip with an aluminum handle. The tip of this applicator is a non-absorbent medical grade synthetic polyester material that contains no fatty acids or latent sugars. It's bonded to a thin flexible aluminum handle that follows the contours of passage with virtually no injury to mucosal tissues. It's perfect for diagnostics, DNA, forensics, medical, and veterinary environments for task's like evidence collection, flu and strep testing, eye microbiology, veterinary care, and specimen collection for testing and screening. The 25-800 D 50 polyester tip applicator is CE marked for medical use and meets FDA GMP's, ISO 9001:2008, and ISO 13485:2003 standards (certificate of sterility and/or compliance is available with each shipment upon request).

The polyester material is a synthetic spun fiber that is made from a polymer and has been tested and validated for use in specimen collections for applications like microbiology, rapid test diagnostics, and PCR analysis. This material provides excellent collection and release properties and is not absorbent. Puritan purchases only in the finest-grade spun-polyester fiber material in bales and then card it themselves.
